Roethlisberger, Polamalu probable for Steelers;…

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger and safety Troy Polamalu each attended a full practice Friday and are listed as probable for the regular-season finale in Cleveland on Sunday.

Roethlisberger practiced all week after missing last Saturday’s 27-0 win over the St. Louis Rams because of a high ankle sprain. The injury occurred three weeks ago in a home win against the Browns, but he played the following Monday in San Francisco and threw three interceptions in a 20-3 loss.

Polamalu (knee) did not practice until Friday but is expected to start Sunday. Center Maurkice Pouncey missed the past two games with a high ankle sprain but said he’s going to play.

Linebacker James Harrison (neck) and wide receivers Mike Wallace (ankle) and Emmanuel Sanders (foot) are listed as probable.

LaMarr Woodley (hamstring) is doubtful after not practicing Friday, and Jason Worilds likely will make his seventh start at outside linebacker.

The playoff-bound Steelers need a win and a Baltimore loss at Cincinnati to win the AFC North and earn a first-round bye.

What are your opinions.

Steelers’ Woodley out at Cincy; Farrior probable…

PITTSBURGH — Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker LaMarr Woodley will miss his second straight game because of a hamstring injury, and linebacker James Farrior likely will be back for Sunday’s AFC North showdown in Cincinnati.

Woodley was ruled out Friday after not practicing all week.

Farrior was designated as probable after practicing for the third consecutive day. Farrior missed Pittsburgh’s previous two games with a calf injury. Backup Larry Foote indicated he expected to come off the bench again.

Also probable for Pittsburgh (6-3) against the Bengals (6-2) are two of the past three AP Defensive Players of the Year, safety Troy Polamalu (rib) and linebacker James Harrison (toe). Polamalu returned to practice Friday, and Harrison was a full participant after being limited Thursday.

Not much else going on in the NFL world today.

POSTED: 11:24 am EDT July 29, 2011

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers released veteran offensive tackle Flozell Adams on Friday, a move made possible after the team agreed to terms with free agents Willie Colon and Jonathan Scott late Thursday night.

The 36-year-old Adams was in the second year of a two-year deal with the Steelers and was scheduled to make $5 million this season. He started all 16 games in 2010 after Colon went down with an Achilles injury. The five-time Pro Bowler spent the first 12 years of his career with Dallas.Colon and Scott can officially sign with the team Friday evening, but can’t practice until next week, leaving the Steelers thin along the line when practice begins Friday afternoon.

Plenty of questions as Steelers open camp

PITTSBURGH (AP)—Ike Taylor(notes) is back with the Pittsburgh Steelers.

How many of the defending AFC champions’ free agents will join the veteran
cornerback in training camp remains very much up in the air.

Taylor confirmed the deal on his Twitter page Wednesday morning, 24 hours
before the team begins training camp in Latrobe.

“I would like to thank GOD The ROONEY family KEVIN COLBERT COACH TOMLIN MY
SUPER AGENT JOEL SEGAL For getting this deal done,” Taylor posted.

The 31-year-old Taylor has developed into a mainstay in the Pittsburgh
secondary during his eight-year career. He finished 61 tackles and two tackles
in 2010 while helping the Steelers lead the lead in points against.

Under the new collective bargaining agreement, Taylor won’t be able to sign
his contract until Friday and join the team on the practice field until Aug. 4.
By then the Steelers hope to have some sense of order following a chaotic
scramble to get 90 players into camp following the lengthy work stoppage.

It will certainly be a busy few days. The team is expected to re-sign kicker
Shaun Suisham(notes), who made 14 of 15 field goals last year after replacing veteran
Jeff Reed(notes) in midseason.

The future of other high-profile veterans, namely tackles Willie Colon(notes) and
Jonathan Scott(notes), is uncertain. Pittsburgh will need to make some difficult
decisions in order to get under the new cap of $120.4 million. The Steelers are
approximately $10 million over the cap.

While veterans can’t sign until Friday, the team has been busy attempting to
flesh out the roster. The Steelers have invited 20 rookie free agents to camp,
including former Wisconsin running back John Clay(notes).

The team added punter Aaron Bates on Wednesday. He’ll join Jeremy Kapinos(notes),
signed last fall after Dan Sepulveda suffered the second major knee injury of
his career. Sepulveda’s contract is up and his inability to stay healthy has
been an issue.

A day after players were allowed inside team facilities following the end of
the lockout, things were quiet on Wednesday at team headquarters. Several
undrafted rookies hung out in the lobby after putting in their paperwork waiting
for a ride back to the team hotel. Many of the returning starters, including
linebacker James Harrison(notes), opted to spend their last day of a lengthy offseason
somewhere else.

Players will undergo conditioning tests on Thursday, with regular practice
expected to start Friday at Saint Vincent College. Pittsburgh opens the
preseason on Aug. 12 at Washington.

What do you guys think about this.
